How to discover your strengths

For most of 2017 I was struggling to find my path in life. I had been in the same job for almost six years and had hit a wall in my career. I knew that I wanted to start my own online business but I did not really know what it would looked like. One of my biggest challenges was that although I knew I was able to do it I was unclear on what my strengths were.

Uncovering your strengths is a major step in determining what type of business your should start. It is also helpful in knowing what you are great at and what things you should outsource so that you do not waste time. At the beginning of 2018 a dear friend gifted my a book called the Strength Finder. If you read my last post on my favorite must read books you will see this one on the list.

The great thing about this book is it takes the guessing work out of trying to figure out what you are best at. There is a unique code in the back which allows you to unlock a strength test. It is quick and does not allow you much time to answer so make sure you are prepared before starting so that you get the best results. I loved this aspect as it really takes your gut response and does not allow you to ponder or change your mind so that it records your first reaction which is spot on compared to your second third or even fourth response.

This reminded me to always listen to your intuition and go with your gut. You don’t need to look to the world to discover your strengths you can simply look within. This book helps you get there quicker and is a great resource on your journey to discovering your true path in life. I highly recommend you check out the Strength Finder book and let me know in the comments below your results. Are you surprised? Do they feel spot on to you?

For the record my top five strengths are Futuristic, Ideation, Strategic, Adaptability and Maximizer.

Let me know if you have similar ones to mine in the comments below.
